The best pair of swords as of now are http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Celtic_Royal_Knight_Sword
They have high amount of max damage, fast attack speed (which is useful for the revamped Final Hit), set effect of more crit damage, "enhanced bash" (probably more damage when using bash), and lower durability usage. However, they're new so there aren't much, if any, being sold right now and are apparently pretty difficult to get the stuff for just one sword.
After that, there's http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Falcata which is now cheap to get thanks to the past gachapons giving them out like candy. You can most likely buy a R1 reforged falcata for about 250k.
If you just simply just want damage asap, you can just go for beam swords. They have high damage off the bat and are fast attack speed. Only problem with them are that you can't enchant them yourself (there's some gacha beam swords that are enchanted already) and you can't special upgrade them (next step to upgrading after gem upgrades).
Iirc, you also used range in the past. Best bow would be to get a http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Highlander_Long_Bow with R1 reforge. I'm not sure if there's much left to buy but I'd assume they're expensive if so. You can also get http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Wing_Bow with R1 Reforge but you lose about 20-30 max damage.
I'd continue listing more equipment but I'm tired and I've been typing this up at 2 A.M., so I'll edit this whenever I can, going more in detail on what would be the most optimal equipment to get and the reasons behind it, the enchants that are best to use, and what reforges are best for each skill set.
